The Consortium was established in April 2011 by the eight founding members, Italian leaders of the domestic appliances Industry: Ariston Thermo, Indesit Company, Loccioni, MR&D Institute, Spes, Teuco Guzzini, Elica Group and Università Politecnica delle Marche.
The BTICINO Company , leader in home automation system and Partner of Legrand Group –France- joined the Consortium in 2012.

Ariston Thermo

Ariston Thermo, with over 80 years of experience, is present in more than 150 countries and is a protagonist of clean energy. BTicino, heading the Gruppo Legrand in Italy, presents an organizational structure that encompasses 9 production plants and approximately 3,000 employees, it operates in the Italian market offering main brand products as BTicino, Legrand, Zucchini, Cablofil, Vantage and Metasystem Energy. BTicino is the world specialist for electrical and digital infrastructures for buildings. Gruppo Elica, has been operating in the kitchen cooker hoods market since the 1970’s, presided by Francesco Casoli and headed by Giuseppe Perucchetti, is currently world leader in terms of units sold. The company also boasts a position of leadership at European level in the field of design, production and marketing electrical motors for cooker hoods and boilers. With over 3,000 employees and an annual production of over 18 million pieces, Gruppo Elica has a productivity platform network in nine production sites in Italy, Poland, Mexico, Germany, India and China. Indesit Company

Indesit Company is among the leaders in Europe in the field of production and marketing of large white goods (household appliances : washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, kitchen hobs, ovens and cook tops). It is the foremost leader in important markets like Italy, UK and Russia. The company founded in 1975 has been on the Milan stock exchange since 1987, with annual turnover in 2012 of 2.9 billion euro. Indesit Company has 8 industrial plants (through Italy, Poland, UK, Russia and Turkey) and employs 16,000 people. Indesit, Hotpoint and Scholtès are the Groups main brands.

Gruppo Loccioni

Gruppo Loccioni integrates “ideas, people, technology” in the development of automatic measuring and control systems, aimed at improving quality, efficiency and sustainability of products, processes and buildings. In the field of energy efficiency, climate alteration emissions and comfort, is the creation of the Leaf Community project, which is the first eco-sustainable community in Italy, a real laboratory in continuous evolution for experimenting and measuring the future, encompassing the Leaf House, a complete self-sufficient house. Today the Leaf Community has become Smart and is the first example of a real and functioning micro-grid system of energy accumulation and intelligent management of energy flow.

MR&D Institute

MR&D, has for over 20 years been an institute of research and development in “outsourcing”, it is a leader in Italy, dedicated to the production of new products that are highly innovative. The key skills of MR&D cover automation, Low voltage management and control, Multimedia and Home appliances. The mission statement of MR&D consists in offering a service of “all inclusive” innovation covering all the necessary phases from the development, to engineering plants and the production of the new product, based on the client’s requirements. MR&D is in effect divided into two divisions: MR&D Institute – dedicated to the design, development and testing of the product; MR&D Manufacturing – dedicated to the engineering process and the production of the finished product.

Spes (Company for Electronic and Software Design) was founded in 1997 by a group of young professionals, electronic enthusiasts, with advanced skills in the scientific-technological fields. The company modelled on an “R&D company format” carries out research and development activities, technological transfer and training and also is involved in projects aimed at accelerating the innovative processes in partner companies that aim at innovation as a distinctive element of their products. Nowadays Spes is one of the largest independent organizations in Italy in the field of electronic design as well as taking on the role of supplying electronic devices.

Teuco Guzzini: is a brand that continues to anticipate techniques and styles, a history of innovation studded with numerous international recognitions. The many Teuco patents have embodied the realm of the bathroom with their specialized hydro-massage (spa baths) and in a few years the Teuco brand became a worldwide leader in bathroom fittings.

Università Politecnica delle Marche

The Università Politecnica delle Marche [Polytechnic University of the Marche] is a public entity with its own autonomous capacity in scientific, didactical, organizational, financial and accountancy rights in its public and private role. It is known as the University of the three T’s: Talent, Technology, Territory. The 3T slogan perfectly encompasses the policies of the “Ateneo di Ancona” and its public commitment to be the development engine, through close ties, with companies in the territory and the creation of many “spin-off” companies where young researchers have initiated businesses in highly advanced sectors. The five faculties : Agriculture, Economics, Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, Sciences : at the Polytechnic University of the Marche are those associated with the highest probable employment rates.
